Thank you for visiting.
I am a documentary and development photographer based in Laos.
What started as a journey through Southeast Asia more than twenty years ago gradually turned into a life and career in Laos. Since 2004, I have been living and working here, documenting the people, places and stories that shape this country and the wider region.
Photography has taken me from remote mountain villages and Mekong river communities to hospitals, schools, construction sites and international conferences. Along the way I have worked with UN agencies, NGOs, development organisations, businesses and media clients, helping them tell authentic stories about the people behind their work.
My approach is rooted in curiosity, patience and respect. Whether I am photographing a farmer in a rural village, a healthcare worker in a provincial hospital or a business leader in Vientiane, I try to create images that feel honest, human and connected to a larger story.
Over the years I have worked for organisations including UNICEF, the World Bank, WHO, WFP, IFRC, ILO, GIZ, Swisscontact and many others across Laos and Southeast Asia. These assignments have given me a deep understanding of development, health, education, livelihoods, climate resilience and social change, but more importantly they have introduced me to remarkable people whose stories deserve to be seen and heard.
Living in Laos for more than two decades has given me something that cannot be learned from a guidebook or a short assignment: a long-term relationship with the country, its culture and its people. That experience helps me work effectively in diverse environments and build trust quickly, whether I am working independently or as part of a larger communications team.
Today I continue to work as a photographer for international organisations, NGOs, editorial clients and businesses throughout Laos and Southeast Asia, creating visual stories that inform, engage and connect people across cultures.
Because at its heart, photography is not only about what we see. It is about understanding people, and helping others understand them too.
